Book Distribution Partners accept:
- Children’s books
- Books published in the last 15 years
- Primary, secondary and college textbooks, soft or hard cover, published in the last 15 years
- Dictionaries and reference books published in the last 10 years, but not encyclopedia sets
- Medical, nursing, technical and science books published in the last 10 years
- Religious primary texts, such as Bibles or Qurans, packed in their own box marked “Religious texts”. They are sent only when African schools ask for them.
- School and office supplies: paper, pencils, pens, wall charts and maps
Please keep each box under 50 pounds, and leave out packing that can’t be recycled, such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Postage is paid by the sender, because the warehouses can’t cover shipping costs for donations.
To know when your books arrive, ask USPS for tracking. Volunteers sort thousands of pounds of books every week, so the warehouse can’t confirm single parcels.
